Your payment includes 2 meals a day (breakfast and dinner), 6 nights accommodation, on-site transportation, meditation and yoga classes, medical assistance and requirements (such as anti malaria medication), 5-day detox and cleansing package, and tour of local cultural sites. It excludes your international flight to Ghana, lunch (which will be sourced during our days out), gratuities, and optional activities during your stay in Ghana.

Your adventure with Akuapem Nature Retreat starts and finishes in Accra, Ghana, and you'll be arranging your own flights. The itinerary includes the travel days to and from Accra, meaning if your retreat is from October 19th to 24th, plan to check into the designated accommodations (covered in your retreat fee)  during the day so as not to miss the introductory ceremony, or latest midnight. On your arrival our airport assistance protocol will help you make your way to the retreat. The 24th won't feature any major organised activities, so you're free to start your journey home later that day.  

Anyone, including children and teenagers are welcome to join the nature retreat, they are a terrific asset to groups, offering a multi generational viewpoint and touch.

You need a document proving you've had a yellow fever vaccination in order to enter Ghana. While some of our participants may decide to get all of the recommended vaccines, others may decide not to.

If you DO NOT wish to receive the yellow fever vaccine, please contact us to be added to the list.

There is a vaccination for malaria available, or alternatively, an anti-malaria medication that can be taken throughout your stay in Ghana upon arrival. Reach out to us to be added to the list for anti-malaria medications.

We’ve implemented preventative health and safety protocols such as mosquito and wild animal repellent, as well as an onsite first aid nurse to ensure all around safety and protection.

Given the warm climate, we recommend wearing layers for adaptability to warmth and coolness, along with some warmer clothing for varying weather conditions, particularly at night.

For those requiring religious accommodations, please contact us and we will make the necessary arrangements to meet your needs, such as providing single-sex sleeping arrangements.

In Ghana, November marks the transition from the rainy season to the drier part of the year, especially in the southern regions, including Accra. During this month, you can expect daytime temperatures to range from the mid-80s to low 90s (°F) with a noticeable decrease in rainfall.  Nights are generally warmer too, with temperatures seldom dropping below the mid-70s (°F). The humidity remains high, but the onset of the drier season brings relief from the peak rainy months. While rain showers are less frequent, they can still occur, usually as brief, refreshing events. This time of year offers a pleasant balance for outdoor activities, with the warmth moderated by the coastal breezes in areas like Accra. It's a period of lush landscapes, making it an excellent time for nature retreats and exploring the rich biodiversity of Ghana.

Yes, most travelers need a visa to enter Ghana. It's important to apply for your visa ahead of your trip, as visas on arrival are typically not available for tourists. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned date of entry into Ghana.

Yes, you will have access to electricity for charging batteries at the retreat locations in Ghana. Ghana operates on 230v electricity and typically uses the British-style plug (Type G) with three rectangular prongs. If you're coming from a country with 230v electricity and a compatible plug type, you may not need any additional equipment. For those travelling from regions with different standards, it's advisable to check your devices for voltage compatibility and bring any necessary adapters or converters.

If you find yourself needing to cancel your booking with Akuapem Nature Retreat, we understand that plans can change and we aim to be as accommodating as possible. You have the option to cancel your journey without any charge up to 30 days before the start date of the retreat. However, please be aware that cancelling less than 30 days of the journey's commencement will incur a deduction of 50% of the total cost of the retreat.

Akuapem Nature Retreat also reserves the right to cancel any scheduled journey for any reason at our discretion. Should we have to cancel the retreat you are booked on, rest assured that you will receive a full refund of your payment. In cases where the retreat is cancelled due to external circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, we will endeavor to issue refunds where feasible.

We strongly encourage all our travellers to invest in comprehensive travel insurance. This insurance should cover trip cancellation or delay, loss of luggage, and other potential travel disruptions. This step ensures that you are protected financially should any unforeseen circumstances affect your planned retreat with us.
